Houston: Chairwave, Poem Booth & Roast Booth

Houston, we have a question: what if technology became a reason to pause and connect?

From November 21st through January 11th, 2026, VOUW brought three works to CityPlace in Houston - Chairwave, Poem Booth, and Roast Booth - in collaboration with Weingarten Art Group.

Chairwave unfolded for strangers and invited them to sit together. Poem Booth turned a face and a moment into language. Roast Booth did what it says — and people loved every second of it.

Mingus oversaw the installation from start to finish: from the studio in Amsterdam to every screw in Houston. That hands-on approach is how VOUW has always worked. Knowing exactly where everything sits, how it functions, and why it matters.

As Mingus described it at the time: "We hope visitors walk away feeling that technology can be used for something more than productivity, that it can be human, in a way."
